My name is Danielle McPherson and I am a special education teacher for SJCOE. I teach moderate-severe special needs students at a satellite site in Tracy, serving high school students in a special day class. My educational philosophy is simple; I have fun with my students while I provide them a safe and functional learning environment. I just completed my fourth year of teaching, all in this setting, and I can’t imagine myself doing anything else!
If I were to describe myself, I would say I’m a passionate, warm-hearted person who loves to help people. My friends, family, and students all mean the absolute world to me, and I would do anything for any of them. Pictured, you will see my step daughter Lily (4), my partner Hernan, my nephew Jordan (2), and my best friends Cendrine and Andrew. (All of which are my favorite people on the planet-EVER).
I am in this course to fufill M.Ed requirements. I am currently in the process of obtaining my M.Ed in Educational Leadership as well as my preliminary administrative credential. From this course, I hope to work with and gain more insight from colleagues in the general education world. Sometimes our teaching lives seem so different, but when you look at the “BIG PICTURE”, we all should have the same overall goal for our students. As with every course I take, I only hope to to be more professional and gain useful knowledge that I can use in my career.
